The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix recently launched a program called the Jewish Federation Senior Rides Program due to a lack of reliable and accessible means of transportation within the elderly community. The Jewish Federation is working towards raising more money for the program in order to continue to offer more assisted transportation to seniors in need.
A recent study, administered by Envoy America in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, showed what kinds of appointments and destinations seniors are using Envoy’s senior driving service for the most. The study monitored Envoy America’s trips over the course of 18 months. Envoy found that seniors are using its assisted transportation services for much more than just doctor’s appointments and trips to medical facilities. We found that seniors truly are taking back their independence!
