Envoy has a unique and growing partnership with the American Cancer Society by being part of their Road to Recovery program. The program features trained drivers who donate their time and the use of their vehicles to drive cancer patients in their communities to and from treatments as needed. However, there are times when the number of necessary volunteers falls short. This is when Envoy’s assisted senior transportation services (compare page) are utilized throughout the community of the American Cancer Society’s patients.

It’s vitally important that these patients struggling with cancer recovery and ongoing treatment care make it to their appointments to receive the medical attention they need, and Envoy is proud to extend its extra caring services to these individuals. Envoy America offers door-to-door service and wait to take individuals home when their treatment is over (or in some cases to their next appointment or to pick up medication). Trips to medical facilities can sometimes take longer than expected, but patients can have peace of mind knowing their driver will be waiting for them no matter what.

Envoy’s Senior Transportation is Giving Back to Tucson

Envoy America was recently recognized in articles from Tucson News Now and the Arizona Daily Star for the company’s efforts to provide free rides to cancer patients. Envoy has recently expanded its senior transportation service area to include Tucson, AZ.

In the article from Tucson News Now, Monica Escalante, American Cancer Society mission delivery member said, “We’ve used numerous third party services and immediately upon trying Envoy America we received very positive feedback from both American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery patients and the medical offices they visited.” Full article here, Envoy America offering free rides for cancer patients.

I am extremely grateful that the American Cancer Society has a relationship with Envoy. I have never seen a transportation service that cares as much as you do.

Real Story: Your Senior Driving Service is Here for You

Envoy strives to give companionship and caring assistance to all passengers. During a recent voluntary Road to Recovery trip with Ms. Smith*, our Envoy companion driver, Bruce, made sure she had an accessible wheelchair at both the cancer center and the hospital. He picked her up, took her to the cancer center for lab work and then accompanied her to the main hospital for additional testing. Originally, Ms. Smith had a pre-surgery appointment with her doctor later in the day, but she felt ill after her hospital visit. Bruce brought Ms. Smith home to rest and called the management team at the cancer center to update them on the change of plans and to voice his concerns about her current health. Bruce later drove her back to the cancer center and admitted her into emergency care. This is only one example of the caring assistance that companion drivers provide.

Lisa, a member of the team at the cancer center, said, “I am extremely grateful that the American Cancer Society has a relationship with Envoy. I have never seen a transportation service that cares as much as you do.” Envoy’s services go above and beyond other common transportation companies. Companion drivers make elderly (and in this case ill) passengers feel comfortable and go the extra mile to make sure all their needs are taken care of, just like a family member would do.

We look forward to sharing a ride in the Tucson area with you. If you are elderly, an adult child of a parent who can no longer drive or struggling with your health please reach out to our team now. Our reception is waiting by to schedule your ride.
