Real Transportation Assistance Seniors Need When Getting to a Doctor’s Appointment
Does your elderly parent have trouble navigating busy freeways to make it to their doctor’s appointment on time? Are they unable to get behind a wheel due to a medical condition? Healthcare appointments are one of the most popular ride destinations of senior transportation and that is why Envoy has partnered with the largest hospitals in the valley as their preferred healthcare transportation service. They can easily avoid the stress and anxiety of driving by letting an Envoy companion driver accompany them, and here’s why:
1) Making reservations ahead of time
One of the features of Envoy America’s transportation service that makes it unique is the ability to schedule a trip with a driver ahead of time. Seniors can feel comfortable and confident knowing that their driver will be reliable and get them to their appointment on time.
2) Extra assistance beyond the car ride
As an assisted transportation service, drivers are trained and more than happy to offer extra assistance to passengers. Envoy drivers will help seniors get into and out of the car, but they offer much more companionship than that. Medical buildings can be difficult to navigate through, and Envoy companion drivers go inside the doctor’s office with seniors and help them find the suite number they need to go to.
3) Taking seniors to more than one appointment
If your elderly loved one has multiple places they need to go it is no problem with Envoy’s transportation service. Companion drivers will make sure that your senior is taken where they need to go while also staying with them through each stop.
Premier Healthcare Transportation Choice for Mayo Clinic, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and the American Cancer Society
Envoy America is the premier senior transportation provider to the Mayo Clinic, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and the American Cancer Society. In addition to providing extra-care transportation to and from the hospital or healthcare center, Envoy is deeply passionate in assisting patients outside of caring for their full transportation needs.
Recently, Envoy America joined the American Cancer Society for an event called “Climb to Conquer Cancer Phoenix.” The climb itself was a 5.5 mile hike up Summit Road at South Mountain Park in Phoenix. Participants experienced an elevation change of 1,100 feet by the end of the hike. The event consisted of entertainment, food and a unique celebration of cancer survivors. Proceeds of the event benefited funding for the American Cancer Society’s programs.
Just this last week Envoy offered free rides to cancer patients in partnership with American Cancer Society in Tucson. Here is an excerpt from Tucson News Now describing the assistance Envoy is able to provide to cancer patients.
“When schedules were set up for me for my treatment to begin, I sort of anticipated because this was going to be every day transport. I kind of anticipated I might have an issue,” Auld-Beamer (recovering from breast cancer) said. “I was just overcome by everything. Because my anxiety was so high and I was worried about a lot of stuff.”
A couple of weeks ago, the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program and their partnership with Envoy America came to the rescue. They’ve teamed up to give people like Auld-Beamer a worry free trip from their home to the hospital. “
